My advice on the Nexus One: Buy it no contract, then get the Even More Plus contract.

• New User, with 2 year contract: $179 + (24 x $79.99) + $35 (activation fee) = $2133.76


• Existing User, with 2 year contract: $279 + (24 x $79.99) + $35 (activation fee) = $2233.76


• Existing User, no contract, unlocked phone: $529 + (24 x $59.99) + $35 (activation fee) = $2063.75

The no annual contract plan is $20 per month cheaper for the same exact plan. It's more money up front, but cheaper in the long run.
